Emma Stephens, LivingNow Magazine Editor

PhD research scientist, life coach, and author, Dr. Narjes Gorjizadeh, bridges the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science to provide a unique new model for a happy and fulfilling life.

In GROW YOUR MIND, GROW YOUR LIFE: 7 Simple Strategies to Increase Focus, Heal Your Pain, and Unlock Your Best Life (Marble Book Publishers; paperback), Dr Narjes provides the practical wisdom we need to expand our minds and simple, quick, science-based tools to live a happy, stress-free, and fulfilled lives.

Having explored both modern science and ancient wisdom for the past three decades, Dr. Narjes used this knowledge to find the easy way out during her own turbulent times. In doing so, she learned a life changing truth: our mind is the root of our life experiences.

By integrating modern science and ancient wisdom, she developed her brilliant ‘hybrid’ approach to effectively alleviate stress and anxiety, improving our productivity, happiness and inner peace.

How we perceive situations in our life and how we respond to them depends on how our mind works, she says. Whether it is the stress of navigating our way through the routine stresses and overstimulation of modern daily life or unexpected crises and challenges, we can cope better if we know how to manage our mind.

This is especially relevant today as the COVID 19 pandemic exacerbates psychological distress. Across Australia, mental ill health is forecast to peak at around 45% of the population by April 2022, according to the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre.

In GROW YOUR MIND, GROW YOUR LIFE, Dr. Narjes explains how by increasing the focus of our mind we can change our brain to become happier, more productive, and more creative, regardless of life’s outcomes and events.

In Part One, Dr. Narjes explores the three pillars – Pause, Wisdom, Focus – that empower us to become more in control of our mind, thoughts, and emotions, to help us remain stable and strong in all life situations. “You can heal your pains and unlock your best life one moment of pause at a time, one word of wisdom at a time, and one drop of focus at a time,” says Dr. Narjes.

Part Two of GROW YOUR MIND, GROW YOUR LIFE offers seven easy, quick, and practical tools to increase your focus, manage your mind, enjoy the gift of the present moment, and unleash your potential to unlock your best life. Techniques include:

  • How to refine your limiting beliefs
  • How to use the distractions of modern life to your advantage
  • How to use your power of choice
  • How to strengthen your mind to become more positive
  • How to design your best future

This easy to read book provides step-by-step instructions and examples of its strategies in action, enabling techniques to be easily integrated into daily life to transition from stress to peace, and from tension to relaxation.
